..is an XL1s. I am currently saving and I will hopefully buy a second-hand one, my budget reaches ?800 and no more (well, no more if I realistically want to get it in the next few months).

I'm interested to know if anyone here may be parting with a good-condition XL1s around this Christmas time, is currently trying to sell one or simply knows some hotspots to find them.

And please don't say EBAY! I won't purchase anything from that fraud filled piece of shite! Not if it's an item over ?10, anyway! Especially so because no-one on there seems happy to let you visit and SEE the product/camera before you buy it. THAT is an extremely important aspect to me, to be able to see the camera.

Any advice will be appreciated, otherwise I'll ask nearer the time. I'm probably going to blitz ukscreen and talent-circle with "WANTED" ads around Xmas too.

I know how you feel. I'm saving up for a Sony Z1 but I've only saved ?90 so far. By the time I've got enough they'll be obsolete.

Anyways there is a fellow selling one on the DVDoctor forum - http://forums.dvdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=36309]

It's worth checking out their classifieds section as lot's cameras and other video related stuff is advertised there.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Instead of saving unsuccessfully for a camera just rent it once to get a feel for it and then only when you need it. To learn you can use the cheapest there is - even a camera phone is sufficient for that purpose.

I've used a Z1 on 2 or 3 occasions already and it's great camera. I have a PD150 and I using that to do work which will hopefully fund the Z1.
